Coaches Guidelines
MYFL – Coaching Guidelines
1. Know and follow MYFL and MYFA bylaws.
2. Follow any rule(s) set forth by the MYFL Board of Directors.
3. Conduct myself and ensure my Coaches, Team Moms, and Parents conduct themselves in a manner that is consistent with good sportsmanship at all times, refraining from profanity, harassment, and aggressive behavior at all times.
4. Always treat game and league officials with respect. Like you, they are out to help our kids grow to love the game of football.
5. Have a good and consistent relationship/communication with your coaches, cheer coach, team moms, and parents. This will only help your season.
6. Never allow your players to be left unattended at games, practice, and/or any other team or MYFL event.
7. Do not use or be under the influence of alcoholic beverages, illegal substances, or no spitting or tobacco while at mandatory team events.
8. Never physically, verbally, or mentally harm a child and be sure parents and assistant coaches do the same.
9. Comply fully with leagues dress code and background check policy.
10. Every player must play a minimum of 6-plays per game. Plays include Special Teams & Plays from the Line of Scrimmage.
11. Play Sheets are mandatory and must be kept until the end of post season games.
12. ALWAYS MAINTAIN A KIDS FIRST, SPORT SECOND ATTITUDE.
13. All coaches, cheer and football, must attend majority of practices. You volunteer to teach these kids so be there. Coaches are accountable to their fellow coaches for attendance requirements. Any coach that feels another coach is excessively absent may report it to the board oof directors.
